GENESIS 49
Genesis 49:10 The scepter will not depart from Judah,
nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet
I love the fact that even in the book of Genesis, the promise of Jesus coming and ruling through the line of Judah is foretold. It is one of the reasons that I believe so strongly in Christianity...it gives me confidence that what was predicted has always come true. And that means so will the the things that are predicted for the future.
GENESIS 50
Genesis 50:20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.
God can and will work through any circumstances that we might face. Joseph is such a perfect example of that. God took the horrific set of calamities that Joseph encountered and used them to save millions of people. It is amazing what He can do. He can take your pain, frustrations, and hurts and use them for something beautiful We need to be willing to trust the process and keep the faith no matter what is happening in our lives.
EXODUS 1
Exodus 1:21 And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own.
The midwives had been given a very clear order by Pharaoh ..to kill every male baby boy that the Israelites had. But they feared God more then they feared the most powerful person in the country. They didnt worry about their own safety of the safety of those that were closest to them...they were more concerned about following what God said. And He blessed them. We need to stay faithful even when we are faced with a seemingly impossible circumstance. Who do we fear more? Man or God?
EXODUS 2
Exodus 2:11-12 One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were and watched them at their hard labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people.12 Looking this way and that and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.
In this passage we see the temper that Moses had. It was something that haunted him for his entire life. All of us have struggles in our lives...something that we deal with on a daily basis...for some it is lying, maybe anger, or pride, or jealousy...or you name it! But while we have those struggles we need to recognize what they are, and then work on a daily basis to give them over to God and do everything that we can to overcome them. I feel like far too often we just accept them as part of who we are and use it as an excuse to continue to not deal with it. I dont want to have that attitude. I want to do ALL and EVERYTHING that I can to follow Him. Not give part or almost all of who I am over to God, but to serve Him with truly EVERYTHING that I am. No seconds...only the best...
EXODUS 3
Exodus 3:5-6 “Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” 6 Then he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.” At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.
We far too often think of God as our buddy or our friend...someone that we can clown around with...and treat without awe, respect, or fear. We forget that He is someone that we WILL fear! I am CONVINCED that when we see God for who He is, we will fear Him. Everyone in the Bible who has a face-to-face encounter with God experiences that level of fear. The beauty of who God is, is that once we understand what it means to fear Him, we can then encounter His amazing love and grace. We need to have a complete view of who He is. And know that we need to fear Him...and in understanding His love for us.
EXODUS 4
Exodus 4:13-14 But Moses said, “Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else.”
So far to date...

14 Then the Lord’s anger burned against Moses
Maybe it is just me, but I find myself knowing that God is calling me to do something and I respond with questioning and excuses on why I cant be used by Him. Moses has the same response to God. The crazy part is that he having a face-to-face encounter with Him...I mean he is at a burning bush, having amazing miracles that God is performing...and STILL questioning and giving excuses! How often do we do the same...and in doing so frustrate and anger God. He hasnt called us to excuses, but flat out obedience. The next time you know He is calliing you something, just do it. Dont give excuses...and start that today...
