Our God is greater...

The journey to read through the bible in one year. One thought and one verse from every book and chapter of the bible…

EXODUS 10

Exodus 10:4-5 If you refuse to let them go, I will bring locusts into your country tomorrow. They will cover the face of the ground so that it cannot be seen.

That is a lot of bugs. Reading this just reminded me of the power of God. Enough locusts to cover the ground so that you couldnt see it? How crazy is that!?!? If God has this kind of power (and He does) we need to remember who we serve. He is no joke. Dont treat Him that way. Dont forget to give Him the respect, honor, and fear that He deserves.

EXODUS 11
Exodus 11:7 Then you will know that the Lord makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel.

God on your side? GAME OVER! We need to rest in this more often. Straight truth...

EXODUS 12

Exodus 12:23 When the Lord goes through the land to strike down the Egyptians, he will see the blood on the top and sides of the door frame and will pass over that doorway, and he will not permit the destroyer to enter your houses and strike you down.

God always provides a way for us to be saved. He gives us opportunity and chances...and I am so so so thankful for that. This story of the passover always leaves me in awe of the fact that even back then, thousands of years ago, He provided and made a way for salvation. The people had a choice to put blood on the door posts or not...and when they chose to obey, they were saved. Same with us. We are called to not just pray a prayer, but to follow in obedience to the life that God has called us to as His followers. How seriously do we take our faith? Is it really our everything?  Is it really the most important thing in our lives? Because if it is, then how is it changing us on a daily basis? How are spending time with Him? Are we obeying the things that He has called us to?

EXODUS 13

Exodus 13:21  By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night.

Can you imagine being able to literally see anytime of the day or night that God was right there leading you? How awesome would that be! There would be such security and hope! You would be able to clearly see that He was fighting for you! That would be such a huge comfort!

EXODUS 14

Exodus 14:10-11 As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. They were terrified and cried out to the Lord. 11 They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?

Which is why 11 verse later...11...we find them coming to Moses and complaining...I just shake me head and have to laugh. They could see God...the pillar of cloud and fire in front of them, and yet they still didnt believe that He would rescue them. We are often in the same way though. We see God...we have experienced Him in real and profound ways. We KNOW that He exists...and when we find ourselves in the middle of the next valley, we fear, dont turn to God...and ask Him why He has left us in the desert to die. We need to remember who He is, and who we are not.

EXODUS 15

Exodus 15:2 “The Lord is my strength and my defense;
    he has become my salvation.
He is my God, and I will praise him,
my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

God is our salvation. There is no other way. And once we see that...believe it...and live it, we have to choice but to praise who He is and what He has done! Lets remember to give thanks to God today for all the things that He has done in our lives!
