The journey to read through the bible in one year. One thought and one verse from every book and chapter of the bible…
Exodus 32
Exodus 32:3-4 3 So all the people took off their earrings and brought them to Aaron. 4 He took what they handed him and made it into an idol cast in the shape of a calf, fashioning it with a tool. Then they said, “These are your gods, Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.
Aaron is such a wimp. Literally no back bone whatsoever in defending and standing up to the people. He was the one who spoke to the Pharaoh ..preformed the miracles...and even so falters at a moments notice as soon as things begin to go south and the people put pressure on to "create" a new "god". Honestly though, as easy as it is to rip the crap out of Aaron, how often do we act the same way. We falter and often go with the flow instead of living out the life that God has called us to. I think we all need to recognize the need that we all have to stand up for our faith regardless of who we are with!
Exodus 33
Exodus 33:14 The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
God knows exactly what we need. The past few months have been crazy on a lot of different levels in my life. I am beyond thankful to know that God knows my needs best. I can rest in that and know that He will always have my and our best in mind!
Exodus 34
Exodus 34:14 You must worship no other gods, but only the Lord, for he is a God who is passionate about his relationship with you.
I love that. Passionate about His relationship with you. He doesnt just kind of care...or only think about you when He wants or needs something. But He is PASSIONATE about it. You are everything to Him. How much would our lives change, if we just began to really believe that God is who He says that He is. He loves and cares for us more then ANYTHING else. He is passionate about you. I love that.
Exodus 35
Exodus 35:22 Both men and women came, all whose hearts were willing. They brought to the Lord their offerings of gold—brooches, earrings, rings from their fingers, and necklaces. They presented gold objects of every kind as a special offering to the Lord.
God wants us to give out of the joy of our hearts. The question is, when you give, do you do so grudgingly...with a poor attitude...thinking of the new "toy", technology, or something else that you are going to have to put off getting...or do you look at it with joy. Being able to give back and show your affection back to the One who gave you everything you have in the first place!
Next time you give, do so with joy!
Exodus 36
Exodus 36:8 The skilled craftsmen made ten curtains of finely woven linen for the Tabernacle. Then Bezalel decorated the curtains with blue, purple, and scarlet thread and with skillfully embroidered cherubim.
The tabernacle NEVER would have been built without a tremendous amount of community effort and working together. They needed everyone to have involvement in order for it to be finished. Today, we need the same things! Whether in our neighborhoods communities, or churches, we need to pull together and work hard in order to get things done. Without it, many essential things would just never get done. What are you doing to help others around you today?
Exodus 37
Exodus 37:1 Next Bezalel made the Ark of acacia wood—a sacred chest 45 inches long, 27 inches wide, and 27 inches high.
The ark was built to symbolize God's covenant with His people. It was the most sacred object that the Israelites had. Only once a year was the high priest allowed to go into where the ark was located and sprinkle blood to atone for the sins of the people. Today, we no longer need an ark to connect with God. We can talk to Him at any point and time. Asking Him to forgive us, help us, and guide us on the way. I am thankful for the relationship that we are now allowed to have with Him.
