Another Book down...end of Exodus!

The journey to read through the bible in one year. One thought and one verse from every book and chapter of the bible…

Exodus 38

Exodus 38:24  The people brought special offerings of gold totaling 2,193 pounds, as measured by the weight of the sanctuary shekel. This gold was used throughout the Tabernacle.

2193 pounds! That is a CRAZY amount in gold! Three things that stand out to me about this. 1.) I love how much they gave. In order for that large of an amount it would have taken multiple people giving amounts! And they did give freely! 2.) How amazing that the tabernacle would have been. Can you imagine how much that gold would have looked like? It would have been an amazing sight... 3.) Where God resides, it is simply amazing!

Exodus 39

Exodus 39:32 And so at last the Tabernacle was finished. The Israelites had done everything just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

We need to do everything that God commands us to do. And when we do...it will be great. Not without difficulty. Not without trial. But with a freedom and a relationship that will never end and that He cares about more then anything. Are we doing everything we can to follow Him?

Exodus 40

Exodus 40:34-35 34 Then the cloud covered the Tabernacle, and the glory of the Lord filled the Tabernacle. 35 Moses could no longer enter the Tabernacle because the cloud had settled down over it, and the glory of the Lord filled the Tabernacle.

I love the picture and the actuality of the presence of the Lord being so overwhelming that NO ONE could enter. How holy...how awesome...how magnificent is our God? And to know that God no longer needs a physical building after Jesus rose from the dead for Him to reside in. He resides in us, and uses us as a church and a body of believers.

Matthew 22
Matthew 22:37-40 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Often times we get so worried and stressed out over what we should or shouldnt be doing as Christians  We wonder if we are doing it right or going about it the right way. It is honestly pretty simple. Love God. Love others. Everything else falls into place. If we are doing ALL that we can to live those two things out, then we dont need to spend time in constant worry or wondering. There isnt a magical or difficult formula that is out there. We find it embedded in these four words. Love God. Love others. Keep it simple and live it out...
